Welcome to the Distributed Systems and Services theme which is part of the Institute for Computational and Systems Science in the School of Computer Science.
We explore emerging issues in the infrastructure and systems performance for the next generation of distributed/Internet computing. The focus is on large-scale, dynamic interactions and resource sharing across different communities and organisations, bringing together computational power, data and human knowledge. Challenges from Big Data and from the need of an intelligent, secure and dependable infrastructure are being tackled by members of this theme. Examples of our recent research advance our understanding in critical issues relating to cloud, social and green computing.
Our projects are often conducted by multidisciplinary teams of researchers all over the world. These collaborations bring together specialists from both industry and academia, with Information and Computer Scientists from the School taking a prominent role. Feel free to explore further for opportunities to work with us and check out our current activities and publications.
